The itinerary of the excursion:
This year, give your family an unforgettable experience: discover Mount Etna in winter during the holidays! Experience the enchanting beauty of a Sicilian winter and a Christmas like no other.
9:30 AM Meet the guide at Rifugio Sapienza- Bar Crateri Silvestri- and have an initial welcome briefing. Start the excursion and visit the Silvestri Craters.
9:45 AM Begin the walking path to discover the Silvestri Craters, extinct craters formed in 1892. Depending on your needs and your desire for adventure, you can continue to discover the 2001 lava flow and reach the base of one of the craters formed during that eruption. During the walk, children can discover the volcano by playing with experiments, games, and illustrations. Family team games and fun activities.
In the presence of snow, you can discover the true recipe of Sicilian granita made on the volcano!
Our guides will tell stories related to the holidays in Sicily.
12:00 PM At the end of the excursion along the Silvestri Craters, we will take a break at a refuge where we will warm up with a good hot chocolate. We will continue by car (5 minutes) to the Grotta dei Tre Livelli, an extraordinary Etnean geological formation of lava flow. Equipped with helmets and torches, we will explore the cave, discovering its mysteries among legends and scientific explanations about its formation.
